Model Descriptions:
BIG TUNA 85F JAPAN SPECIAL:
The 85F will allow Anglers to cast small lures with great distance with the use of lines between PE 3 and PE 6 (50 pound to 80 Pound test) and lures ranging from 18 grams to 120 grams max (5/8 oz to 4 oz). This is a tencaious and bendy rod so its less likely for anglers to break the rods if high sticked. The "secret" is a mix of primarily Carbon Fiber and Fiber Glass requiring the most intricate patterns and techniques in order to create the blanks themselves. Over the years many many have tried and continue to try to copy the famous RippleFisher performance and while they can dress a rod to look similar they will never ever acquire the performance or ease on your body found in these amazing sticks.
NEW! BIG TUNA 83 JAPAN SPECIAL:
This model was developed with "lure control" and "fight" as its main focus but goes without saying the casting is quite remarkable as well with insane distance and accuracy you would expect from a 100% true Japan made rod. Not a Chinese rod, not an imitation ~ rather the real McCoy from a true 40 year old manufacturer that controls 100% of the rod building process down to designing and making their own curing ovens for the blanks. This new model the 83, is designed for both pin point casting, PE6 to PE8 lines (80 to 100 test) annd still utilize small mouthed diving poppers and small diving pencils. This rod is a dream to cast all day and the bending point is set closer to the body enabling Anglers to easily bend in and capitalize on the butt power with little effort.
Although, these models can fish heavier fishing lines like PE8, if you are in situation where you need to cast light and small lures, these rods will be optimized for a lighter line such as PE6. Both models have moderate flexibility on belly section so even though those got length, you can maintain a comfortable position while fighting the fish. The bend photo displays still weight of 6kg is loaded onto 85F and 83 which is similar to a load placed on the rod if fishing with PE6.
85 & 710:
These two models are the core of the series capable of use with various size lures for different bait sizes. The 85 is an extended model of the 710 with a sharper tip section when casting. Although the long length blank may feel stiffer, the butt section of the 710 is predominantly stronger.
76 & 73:
These models will assist anglers in situations where large lures are required due to the targets feeding on large baits. At a 45° angle, both the 73 and 76 can be seen to have the same power. However, once the rod is lifted even higher, the 76 will start bending closer to the body, reducing the load on the angler. The 73 has a sharp casting feel while able to fight the fish with more power.
BIG TUNA Bending Curve
Big Tuna 3 kg static load comparison
This is a comparison of bending with a 3 kg static load on the Big Tuna Akira series. Each type is described by color. When it comes to big tuna, it is a design with emphasis on stickiness, so the original power is not expressed with a load of about 3 kg, so please only use it as a reference.
The big tuna 710 and the new model 73 do not seem to make a big difference in this bend comparison, but this is the result of making the operation feeling equal, and the bat strength 73 is the upper.
Please refer to this static load comparison and characteristic comparison chart, and choose according to your field, size of the fishing boat, fight style, season, and used lure.
This static load comparison is a comparison of bending with the reel set on each rod and passing through the line. The fixed fulcrum is slightly in front of the grip end and the reel foot. This curve does not represent the condition of the brow, so please use it as a comparison material in the lineup.
